Tell us something about yourself. (Where are you from, what do you do to pay the bills, significant relationship we want to know as little or as much as you want to tell us!! )

I come from the U.K. and live in the outskirts of ‘Birmingham’ which is the second city. I worked in banking for one of the big four banks. I retired a few years ago after working there for 42 years.

I have been married to my wife for over 39 yrs, and have one daughter, two grandchildren ages 7 years and 3 respectively.

**At what point did you know you wanted to be a writer? (When did you write your first story, for example.

I have always had a great love of reading from a very early age and was brought up on authors like ‘Wilbur Smith’, ‘Alistair MacLean’ and ‘Graham Greene’.

It wasn’t until my 20’s that I got interested in writing myself and began to pen books late at night and early morning in long hand. I finished at least a dozen, without really thinking about trying to get published or editing them, so it wasn’t until the last five years that I decided to do something about it.

**What is your favorite genrè…..to read….to write.

My favorite genrè is Mystery/Suspense/Thriller for both reading and writing. But I will read anything so long as it doesn’t have graphic violence or sex. I don’t like writing series, as I find myself getting bored with the characters. I try to write something different, like the story of a rape victim, from her point of view or about a missing boy from the perspective of the parents.

**What are you passionate about.

Obviously I am very passionate about reading writing my family and music.

**What is something you cannot live without?

My computer which I use to write. It is so much easier to make alterations and get the E-book looking good. I would be lost without it m as I live and breath writing each day.

**When you are not writing what do you do?

I enjoy spending a lot of time with my grandchildren who I adore. I listen to music, folk rock such as ‘Fleet Foxes’. First Aid kit etc. I love dogs, I have a boarder collie who is adorable.

**Have you written anything (a specific book) that had a transformative effect on you? If so in what way.

Yes ‘AGAINST MR WILL’ has had a profound effect on me. The trauma women and girls suffer due to this horrific crime and then afterwards the humiliation of facing your attacker at a trial.

These women must be so brave to relive their ordeal again in front of all of these people.

**Where do you get your inspiration from for your novel’s?

I get my inspiration from people around me, films, other books plus I find I get a lot of my idea’s while taking the dog for long walks.

**If someone wanted you to describe your writing what would you say?

I classify my books as mystery suspense novel’s that build up to a breath taking climax, and have lots of twists and turns along the way.

**Are you a plot driven or character driven writer? Why?

I am far more plot driven, as the story is everything and the character’s are just instruments in that story.

**Do you write from an outline or are you a discovery writer? Why?

I am a discovery writer, as planning is to restrictive. I never know what is going to happen until I write it on paper.

I usually write from one or two points of view, third person, but I like to experiment and am currently writing from first person and quite like that too as it allows you to get into the head of the main character.
